Even though Adobe just mentioned it was planning to invest further in HTML5 after restructuring, a rumor from ZDNet suggests the changes could go even further by dropping development for Flash Player on mobiles entirely. According to an email reportedly received by the company’s partners, its future work on Flash for cellphones and tablets will focus on enabling developers to “package apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores.

AdobeはFlashのモバイルデバイス向け開発をディスコンにするそうだ。というかこれ、Flashが事実上ディスコンになったということだよね。この時代にモバイルデバイスに使えない動画やインタラクティブUIツールなんて誰も使わない。
結局Jobsが正しかったんだな。あれだけ、一世を風靡した技術が一気になくなるんだね。これを期にFlashもオープンソース化にしてしまえばいいのに。もしかしたら生き残る道はそこにしかないかもよ。

これ本当なんですかね？本当なら大きなニュースだけど、噂と書いてある以上、もう少し続報を待ったほうが良いかという気も。
Flashが良いか悪いか別にして、折角のプラットフォームをAdobeがそうやすやすと諦めるのかな・・・とそもそも疑問も。
